Finally after 4 days here in Cornwall we had a sunny day and a sunset! I was lucky enough to be out and in position for the duration.
This is Priest's Cove near Cape Cornwall. Rough seas and ominous clouds came together to create a really wintery scene. The rocks out to sea are The Brisons.

I used a 3 stop ND to slow down the exposure time and 5 stops of ND grad filter to hold the sky which inevitably burnt out in part anyway!

Mate this is amazing, well done. The way you've captured the crashing wave and the sun light is just beautiful. Any technique you have used when taking this shot?

Thankyou Drew. I think that the only "technique" here is the conditions which I was lucky enough to witness.
Other than that: 1/2 sec exposure to blur the wave splashes, 70mm to magnify the waves/rocks and to compress the scene, grads to hold the sky (which was atleast 5 stops above the light on the rocks!!) AND patience - I knew I had a great shot looking flat out to sea and into the oncoming waves but it needed the splashing waves to finish it off and give an idea of the wintery conditions. I framed the shot and waited for the waves, everytime I saw a wave about to hit the rock on the right I opened the shutter. After maybe 30 attempts I got this.

Thanks for the interest in my work and skills.

How far back were you standing at 70mm? I really want to get a shot like this, with the wave splashing against the rocks. I always seem to miss the right time when it hits so I don't capture it. With a 1/2 sec exposure, how soon before the wave hits do I hit the shutter? By the way, you are very welcome man. It's an amazing capture :)

I would guess that those rocks are maybe 70m from me?? Can't really remember! Just keep opening the shutter mate that's the beauty of digital! I opened it as I saw the splash begin.
