Kimmeridge Ledges in Dorset lit by the last of the days light.

I was lucky with my gear taking this shot: I was standing in the water on a slippery smooth rock. A wave hit the edge of said rock and splashed above my head, raining down on me and my camera! Being fairly used to this kind of thing I managed to rescue the situation promptly before any sea water damaged my gear. My advise to anyone working close to the sea is to carry at least one cloth in your pocket at all times. :)

I have used one of the many dolomite ledges as the forground lead in here. I wanted to use a faster shutter speed than in many of my waterscapes to show the movement of the water.

Although I was using a 2 stop soft graduated filter to hold back the sky I still needed to combine 2 exposures to create the contrast of the scene. I hope my processing is up to it - I am very tired, up for 3.30 this morning.....

Another perfectly composed shot, the rocks lead you right to the center of it! Excellent lighting too!

Great stuff mate, lovely composition and good blend work (I'm assuming the blend was to get detail in the rock face that goes past the horizon).
Lovely

Thanks Andy. I couldn't get detail on the main cliff with filters - the light level was just too low, what with the angle of the sun and the diffused light. I had to make a seperate exposure for that to combine with the sky and foreground.
