This is a very well known and photographed scene.
I have shot this almost exact framing of Portland Bill on at least 3 other occasions but never been overly happy with the conditions. I always saw this as a dusk shot after the last of the sunlight has left the land but wanted to see some colour in the sky to add interest to the capture. Yesterday, on an impromptu visit the conditions showed promise and sure enough an afterglow adjacent to the sunset appeared after sundown.
I was also blessed with powerful water and a beautiful reflected light still just adding some illumination to the scene.

nice work mate. I saw this sunset as I was sat bored staring ou tme window. (Still no car). Starting to grate on my nerves now.
